During the search for the face of Dove pro•age, we met many stunning, wonderful women and enjoyed capturing their beauty on camera during the process.
Choosing only one from such a vibrant group was a difficult task as they were all amazing, courageous and inspiring women living full lives. We enjoyed getting to know them, laughing with them, sharing their life experiences and hearing what keeps them feeling young!
We wanted you to have a chance to meet a few of these very special pro•age women.
introducing Helena Downie
59 Years Old
Although Helena doesn’t always feel her age, she thinks getting older has helped her confidence to grow. She’s not caught up in her appearance and feels “beautiful inside and quite spiritual, with a good heart”, which reflects her opinion that beauty is more than skin deep.
Inwardly I’m young and full of adventurous spirit. I haven’t really changed at all as I have grown older. Sometimes I am a teenager, mid-twenties and then I have to act out the role of being a sensible mother and grandmother.’
Her tips for looking great are eating well, maintaining a positive attitude and keeping busy. For Helena, having a life that is “full to the maximum” keeps her young.
She is proud of her three children and feels they are her best achievement so far. But there is “definitely lots more to come!”
introducing Coral Newton
60 Years Old
For Coral, one of the best parts of growing older is feeling freer to do and think as she pleases. Proud of her age and accomplishments, Coral feels comfortable in her skin and in how she looks now, a better version of her youth.. “I still feel young!” is Coral’s answer when asked how old she feels.
Coral is all for broadening the spectrum of women in advertising and for older woman to feel proud of who they are and what they look like. She feels “older women have a lot to give and to share” and that is one of the reasons she entered the search, to show to herself and her peers that age isn’t a restriction but a joy.
She takes care of herself by taking long walks, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and drinking plenty of water. She also relishes the opportunity to spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren, her most important accomplishments.
introducing Kaye McLean
53 Years Old
After reading about the pro•age search in Australian Women’s Weekly, Kaye thought she’d give it a shot to let everyone know that just because she was over 50 didn’t mean she was too old to be beautiful and fun. Feeling more like 35 than 52, Kaye feels her confidence has grown with age.
She believes that ‘women can look good at any age’ and she would like to see someone like her in a beauty ad - a real woman with a family and a job and a busy lifestyle. “I would be proud to see a real woman enjoying her life no matter what age she is”
Being part of the Dove pro.age search has been a fun and exciting journey for this mother of two, who considers her children her greatest accomplishment to date. Her tips to looking great are no secret. She says regular exercise, good food and a good skin care routine keeps her feeling and looking her best.
